We work on a wide range of exterior painting projects around Redmond - from brand new construction builds to older homes that just need a fresh coat before things get worse. No two jobs are exactly the same, and that variety keeps us sharp.

New construction is one of those jobs where getting the prep right from the start matters more than most people realize. Board and batten siding, exposed beam details, large window banks - all of it needs to be masked properly and painted in the right sequence. Rush that, and you end up with overspray, lap marks, or trim that doesn't hold. We take our time through those early stages so the finished product holds up for years.

On older homes, the story is usually a little different. Peeling paint on doors, trim that's been through too many Central Oregon winters, siding that's faded unevenly - we see it a lot. What we found on one of these jobs was a garage door with paint flaking down to bare wood and trim pulling away from the structure. Before any paint goes on, that all has to be addressed. Scraping, repairs, proper priming. The prep is where the job is either done right or it isn't.

The porch and covered entry areas are spots a lot of painters skip over or rush through. We don't. Columns get fully stripped back when needed, windows and doors get masked clean, and drop cloths go down on every surface that matters. That kind of setup takes extra time upfront, but it means cleaner lines and no cleanup headaches at the end.

Whether it's a new build or a home that's been sitting through a few tough seasons, the approach is the same - do the prep, respect the surfaces, and don't cut corners on the finish. That's how exterior paint actually lasts in a climate like ours here in Central Oregon.
