Here's what we were working with - a full kitchen loaded with dark cherry cabinets throughout. Upper cabinets, lower cabinets, an island, bathroom vanity, the whole deal. Nice bones, but the dark stain had run its course. The homeowner wanted white, and that meant doing this right from start to finish.

The prep work is where this kind of job gets won or lost. Every door came off and got numbered so we knew exactly where each one went back. All the drawer boxes, hardware, hinges - bagged and set aside. Then we built out a full containment setup using plastic sheeting and blue tape across the entire space. Countertops, floors, walls - everything protected before a single drop of paint hit the air.

We spray painted the cabinet boxes in place and took all the doors off-site to shoot in a controlled environment. Spray application is the only way to get a smooth, factory-looking finish on raised-panel doors like these. Rolling or brushing just doesn't cut it - you end up with texture and lap marks that show up under any decent light. The primer went on first, we let it cure, then came back with the finish coats.

What you end up with is a clean white finish that sits sharp against the speckled countertops and dark wood-look flooring. The raised panel details on the doors actually pop more in white than they ever did in dark cherry. New matte black hardware ties everything together without going overboard. It's a big change - the kind that makes a kitchen feel like a different room entirely.

This was a large-scale cabinet repaint covering the kitchen and a bathroom vanity. We're licensed, bonded, and insured here in Central Oregon - CCB#256468 - and we take the prep work just as seriously as the finish. Jobs like this are a big part of what we do for homeowners across Redmond, Bend, La Pine, Sisters, and the surrounding area.
